August 2010 Water Levels Data File
AUGUST 2010: In spite of the NOAA predictions we have had less rainfall than normal and the lake is at a level which is less than I predicted last month. Not to worry though. It is still at a relatively high stage of 76.1% which is the high end of normal. NOAA is now predicting normal rainfall for the next 3 months. http://www.cpc.noaa.gov/products/predictions/long_range/lead01/off01_prcp.gif
We can expect the lake to remain at its present level for next couple months.
We have tropical weather lined up and marching our way so there is really no telling what could happen. Generally though, storms that start as far east as they currently are have low likelyhood of impacting Central Florida.
The water temperature has dropped from over 90 to a more managable 85. It is actually slightly refreshing to hop in.
