Where do I register to vote? |

Citizens can pick up voter registation forms at City Hall, Monday - Thursday, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and Fridays 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Registration forms are then sent or taken to the Supervisor of Elections office at 119 West Kaley Street, Orlando, Fl. 32806 which is west of Orange Avenue. |

Where is the Town Hall and what are the office hours? |

The City Hall is located at 1600 Nela Avenue. Nela is two blocks South of Lancaster Road and runs East off South Orange Avenue. City Hall is open from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Thursday and 8 am to 4 pm on Friday. The office is closed on New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thursday and Friday on Thanksgiving weekend, Christmas Eve day and Christmas Day. |

How can I vote absentee? |

Applications for an absentee ballot may be obtained by phoning the Orange County Supervisor of Elections at 407-836-2070 or by visiting that office at 119 West Kaley Street, Orlando, Fl. 32806, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. |

Who do I contact to arrange public utility services? |

Electric service is provided by Progress
Energy. Telephone 800-228-8485 for customer service.
Water service is provided by Orlando Utilities Commission and
Orange County Public Utilities depending on in which part of the
City you reside. A call to City Hall at 407-851-7730 can help you
determine which utility service would be your provider.
Sanitary sewer, where available, is provided by Orange County
Public Utilities Wastewater Division.

Who do I contact to find out about garbage and recycling pick-up? |
|
Waste Management is the vendor providing solid waste and recycling services to the City of Belle Isle. Recycling pick up is scheduled one time each week. Contact City Hall at 407-851-7730 to find out if your recycling collection day is Tuesday or Friday. |

When does one need a building permit? |
|
Building permits are required for any new construction, repair or reconstruction work which exceeds $500 in value. The value is determined by the city and a building permit application should be submitted for any work being planned by residents or businesses within the city.
If it is necessary to obtain a building permit from Orange County, the City of Belle Isle will first review the plans for zoning compliance.

Belle Isle parking citations may be paid at Belle Isle City Hall located at 1600 Nela Avenue, Belle Isle, Florida 32809. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday and 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Fridays. |

If I am planning on opening a business, what must I do? |
|
Application for business licenses must be submitted to the City of Belle Isle. There are two classification of licenses; home occupational licenses and commercial licenses. Home occupational licenses are required for any resident operating a business or home office from their residential address within the city. Commercial applications are for those businesses which are located within C-1 zoning in the City of Belle Isle. The City of Belle Isle provides zoning review and once zoning compliance has been determined, will give zoning approval to business license applications. Once zoning approval is given by the City the applicant must then obtain the occupational license from Orange County Occupational License office located at 201 S. Rosalind Avenue, Orlando, Florida. |
