PERKINS BOAT RAMP NOW OPEN

The water level is still very low so boaters should be careful not to back their trailers off the end of the ramp.  Boaters are required to float onto the trailers, motoring on is prohibited.  The ramp should be open from dawn to dusk.  The parking is limited to tow vehicles with trailers that have the required City of Belle Isle parking decal.  Others may launch, but not park at the facility.  All rules, as posted at the ramp, must be obeyed or launch privileges could be suspended.

BE A PART OF THE HISTORIC NELA BRIDGE

During the next twelve to fifteen months, the City of Belle Isle will be restoring the historic Nela Bridge and enhancing it as the cornerstone of the City’s identity and logo.

As an integral part of the project, there will be two scenic overlooks offering a magnificent view of the beautiful Lake Conway.  The overlooks will be dedicated to the residents of Belle Isle and we will be offering you the opportunity to be remembered during this occasion by integrating engraved pavers in the design.

You can be a part of the historic preservation project by purchasing an engraved paver with your personal message: e.g. you family name, your children’s names, or any other message you would like (following established guidelines).  Information on purchasing pavers is available at City Hall, 1600 Nela Avenue

Your paver may be purchased for $100. per paver and the choice of the location of your paver in the overlook grid will be on a first come, first serve basis.  Engraving is limited to three lines and not more than 20 characters/spaces per line.
