Permitting & Inspection

‘How’ does the permitting process work?

Step 1
Submission of ‘all’ permit applications must still be presented to Belle Isle City Hall for preliminary review and approval. With few exceptions, there will be a charge to the applicant for this preliminary review through our Zoning Department.

Step 2
Once the City of Belle Isle Zoning has performed a preliminary review of the permit application and found it to be in compliance with City code requirements, the application will receive City approval via a zoning stamp and signoff.

Step 3
The approved/stamped permit application will then be given to the City of Belle Isle Building Inspection Services Consultant which will issue the associated permit and perform any/all required inspections. Inspections can be made from 8:00am-1:00pm Monday-Friday.  It is requested that inspections be scheduled 24 hours in advance via email at bidscheduling@universalengineering.com.

Should you have any questions after reviewing this information, please contact the City Hall staff for assistance 407-851-7730.
